announcement, announcement.

Welp, the Bargerons are going on another adventure. Are you ready for this? We sure hope so, because we are busting at the seams with how eager and excited we are to share our big news! Okay, here it comes...

WE ARE GOING BACK TO HAITI!

On August 27, 2013, we will be leaving for a five-week stay in Port de Paix, Haiti with our precious friends at Hope Vision Ministry. There are a lot of things happening there, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to witness some of them firsthand. Our time there in November was blessed, and I am confident that it will only increase in blessings during our time there this go around. Jesus is at work in Haiti, that's no secret, and it is our deepest prayer that His name would be glorified for the duration of our stay with our Haitian family.

There are three things we want y'all to be aware of as we continue in this process preparing of our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls for how we'll see our God move:

1. We are still in the process of raising money for our trip. Over the past several weeks, we've raised 1/5 of the amount needed, but we realize that we've still got a long way to go. We will be having a yard sale Saturday, May 25th, 2013 from 8 AM-12 PM at Capstone Church. THIS SATURDAY! Everyone is invited to come check things out, and help us get closer to reaching our goal. Please tell all your friends and family about this, too; we'll have tons of stuff for you to rummage through!
Capstone Church address:
604 North Woods Drive,
Fountain Inn, SC 20644

2. Please join us in praying for His kingdom come, His will be done over the next three months as we prepare for our departure. Our last trip was only a week long, but the spiritual warfare was great. We are confident that Satan will try even harder this time to distract us from the purposes of God, and we will need massive amounts of prayer to withstand his temptations. Please pray that we would seek His will, surrender our flesh and all its desires, run to Jesus in times of need, and be joyful--more joyful than we've ever been. We believe that the Father has called us higher than what this world has to offer, but we're still simply human; we will never be so great as to be great on our own.

3. Lastly, we will be keeping everyone updated as often as possible during the months leading up to our departure as well as while we are there. I will be updating the blog with pictures and stories and needs for prayers and prayers answered whenever I get the chance to, so please feel free to stalk away! I wish everyone could see what we have seen and will be seeing again soon, and since that's not the case, I'll be trying my best to at least give you the opportunity to see secondhand all the beauty that we will be seeing.

We are thankful to everyone who has partnered with us in so many ways, and our thankfulness will only continue to increase for as long as we live. Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost; may He do so through us as we give Him our hands, feet, and hearts.

"Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven."
Matthew 5:16

explorations.

Scenes from our shenanigans in Asheville for the remainder of our time there. Delicious food, beautiful sights, best kept secrets, camera shutters, and ridiculous laughter filled our time together and made me even more thankful to call Lauren one of my best friends. If I said I wasn't already looking forward to our next getaway, I'd be lying.

There's nothing quite like Laur Laur + Nanna time, and that's a fact.

craven gap.

A couple months ago, Lauren and I planned a weekend getaway in Asheville, North Carolina. It was just the two of us, which was something that hasn't happened in a very long time, and it was, also, awesome! I was reminded, yet again, of the faithfulness and favor of the Lord to grant me such a special friendship.

Our only-girls-allowed trip began with a hike through Craven Gap, right on the outskirts of town in Asheville. It was a rainy day with lots of fog, so we couldn't see the mountains as we climbed, but it was the most beautiful sound to walk through the trees and hear all the raindrops fall on the leaves. We talked the entire time, which totally isn't surprising, and simply enjoyed each other's company, something that neither of us have been blessed with in quite a while. We were also twins, from our ball caps and Nike shorts to our Chacos and green water bottles. Great minds do think alike, I suppose!

Creation and best friends are two of my favorite blessings from the Lord, and this was another incredible afternoon to add to my list of things that make my heart swell. Our Laur Laur + Nanna time was perfect in so many ways, and it was so great to begin our adventures in this Forks-esque scene.

I climb mountains not so the world can see me, but so I can see the world.

our own way.

This weekend we hiked two days in a row. While our Saturday adventure was pretty basic, this one ranks at the top of all our lists of best hikes. When the trail split, we went left. When the trail ended, we kept going. Yepp, we made up our own path, climbing through the woods and following the stream all the way back to the road. Not only was it a beautiful day, but I enjoyed the company oh so much, as well. I wish my siblings could come with us on every hike, and my fingers are crossed in hopes that this is a new tradition we've started. Wilber said he wanted in on the action next time, which makes it even more exciting!

I loved everything about these several hours we got to spend together, and I'm looking forward to the next time I get to make Dustin and Freeman get out of bed and come with us. :o)

lake placid.

Saturday morning, Melanie, Freeman, and I made the short trek to Paris Mountain for an hour of exploring around Lake Placid. It was Meeman's first hike with us, and we had the best time. This trail was only a mile long, and it circled Lake Placid (hence the trail name). We chased turtles, laughed about all the ridiculous things we did when we were little, and even dreamed about the days to come when we'll bring our own children out to explore together. I get so giddy when I think about being a mommy, even more so when I think about the incredible aunts and uncles my future kiddos will have.

It was a glorious day. A glorious day, indeed.

our beautiful bailey.

Snapshots of the time our sweet Bailey went to her first prom. To say she was stunningly gorgeous wouldn't begin to adequately describe just how much she radiated in that blue gown. Almost the whole family was there to send her off, and I know I speak for all of us when I say she was the sunshine on that rainy day.
