I can’t explain it, but the ocean and pumpkins just go together.

We just spent a long weekend in New England to give ourselves over to a coastal fall, and we experienced it all — even our first nor’easter. We had to be extra flexible with our days and stay mindful of regulating our nervous systems because of said nor’easter, but we still had such a great few days exploring...
Rhode Island and Connecticut!
Newport was our home base for the weekend, and all I can say is this coastal town wears fall like a masterpiece. The charm, atmosphere, and elevated style of the streets and every wharf was easy to feel and hard to explain, so my best advice is to make plans to experience it for yourself if you haven’t already. I’m sure it is lovely in every season, but I’m so glad autumn was our turn.
The only thing I wish I could change about our trip is being able to linger longer.

Rhode Island and Connecticut were states #26 and #27 for us on our quest to visit all 50 states as a family, and they wowed us in unforgettable ways. Heart so full!
Coastal fall is something of dreams. Leaf peeping with an ocean view?
Yes, please!
