We have loved traveling to new and far-away places over the last two years, but there really is no place like home.
We feel so blessed to live in such a wonderful city, and we visit her as often as we can. Last year we started a new tradition of booking a staycation in December to really soak in this glorious time of year along the beaming streets of Greenville, and it’s one of our better ideas. Walkable cities are at the tip top of our list of favorite and prioritized places to visit, and Greenville is that and so much more!
Christmas adds an extra layer of magic.
Here are SIX Christmas-themed sights and experiences in downtown GREENVILLE, SC that you can do between now and the end of the year...
1️⃣ Visit the Gingerbread display at the SpringHill Suites/Residence Inn on East Washington Street. You can vote on your favorites and kids can enter a drawing contest, too!
2️⃣ Go see the beautiful trees displayed at Hyatt Regency on North Main Street. These are all made and donated by local schools and businesses, and all uniquely decorated. There are a smaller amount of trees on display at the Courtyard Marriott and Embassy Suites by Hilton, as well.
3️⃣ Don’t forget to go see the beautiful tree on Main Street beside the Westin Poinsett hotel, too! 🌟
4️⃣ Spend an hour ice skating on Main Street under twinkle lights! Kids get a free hot chocolate with their ticket, and walkers are available to rent for an additional cost, too. Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance and online to ensure you get the time spot you want.
5️⃣ Go see the Camperdown Plaza lit up at night! There is another big tree decorated beautifully, lots of lights all around, and a wall-sized mural of Rudolph that is so cute for pictures.
6️⃣ Experience the Greenville Christmas Market outside of the Grand Bohemian Lodge! There aren’t a whole lot of vendors set up, but the ones that are there are SO good and each unique. There is another large Christmas tree here that is great for pictures!!
‘Tis the season! All of these are fun for adults and kids alike. If you can’t be in NYC for Christmas, Greenville is a good replacement on a smaller scale. *wink wink*
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
