We made our second trip to Little Bradley Falls with our Hike it Baby friends this week, and it was even more beautiful than I remembered it being. The creek crossings were less stressful (and less wet...even though I did sink my right boot into the water after slipping on a rock) than the first time, but the overnight rain made the falls extra full and vibrant. A few more mamas + little joined us this time than the last, and we had such a great time laughing and chatting about all sorts of things.
The green was almost too good to be true, the little one on my back hummed and chuckled the whole time, the company was brilliantly like-minded, and the sound we heard when we were nearing the waterfall...mmm, there's nothing like it.
Braxton is practically an outdoor professional at this point, and he grows more independent every time we step outside. This day, in particular, he flirted with an older girl who came with her mom and brother, snuck into the water when I looked away for a split second, ate every snack I brought (not surprising), and made faces with me as we made our way back to the trailhead. Words can't say just how much I love watching him grow up in scenes like this.
I'm already planning to visit these falls again during autumn, because it makes me giddy to think about the pops of red, yellow, and orange that will be surrounding the flowing water that time of year. There are so many beautiful places around Greenville that are only a short drive from us, and I'd like to see each of them in every season. I think we'll do just that!
Who wants to join us?
I love this hike! I had hoped to join the HiB group, but we couldn't make it... Coincidentally, I have a post on Little Bradley going up this week - didn't mean to copy-cat you :)
